Double shift in technical institutions to meet rising demand
Ambala, Oct 1 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to introduce double shift system in technical education institutes to meet the increasing number of students seeking admission in vocational courses.
Technical Education and Urban Development Minister AC Chaudhary said here today that more than 1.25 lakh applications were received against 2,800 seats this year and the state government was committed to accommodate as many as possible in these institutions.
The state government had also given clear cut mandate to make the technical education courses more job-oriented to ensure employment.
He said that a group of experts was studying shortcomings in the technical education and would submit its report shortly.
He said that the MNCs setting up their industry in Haryana had been asked to give more and more employment to the local people and stop bringing people from their countries to employ them here.
