3 arrested for looting foreign tourist

Nashik, Oct 2 (UNI) Three people have been arrested for allegedly robbinging a Swedish national of his documents and valuables in Deepali Nagar area of the city.

Police arrested Kaleem Kadir Shaikh (30), resident of Panchasheel Nagar, in this connection yesterday. On getting information from Kaleem, police later arrested two others Wasim Shaikh Nasir Shaikh (20), resident of Wadala Naka and Raju Ghulam Husain Bagwan (30), resident of Bhimwadi, on Nashik-Pune Highway late last evening.

Police has seized foreign exchange notes, a visa, a credit card and a return ticket to Sweden from them.

The trio allegedly robbed Cemac Abraham Phalakki (48), resident of Johanus, Sweden, of his documents on Saturday night. The accused snatched Cemac's passport, I-card, ATM card, return ticket to Sweden and valuables including gold chain, cell phone, digital camera and Rs 1,20,000 in cash.

Cemac, a software engineer had come to Nashik for sight seeing and was searching a hotel on Mumbai-Agra highway when three unidentified people looted him.

The accused trio is to be produced before a court later today.
