Jammu and Kashmir implements NCLP

Kathua, Sept 30, 2007: Jammu and Kashmir has begun implementing the National Child Labour Programme in several of its cities to check exploitation of children in the Himalayan state.

Many of these kids make their living by working in tea stalls, dhabas, auto-repair shops, carpet-making units and other small factories. After slogging for long hours, these child labourers manage to make only 500 - 1000 rupees every month.
