ULFA militant lynched by angry villagers
Guwahati, Oct 1 (UNI) An ULFA militant was lynched and two were critically injured by angry villagers when three of them had gone to extort money from a local businessmen.
Police said the three militants Manoranjon Dole, Manikanta Surat and Ganesh Pegu had gone to the house of one Sajal Chakravarty of Jeraigaon in Dergaon of Jorhat district of upper Assam.
He also happens to be a leader of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP).
The ULFA activists came to Sajal's house after he defied their extortion notice.
Soon an altercation followed and when one of them tried to shoot Sajal, he grabbed his hand and raised an alarm.
Soon the villagers gathered around his house and chased them.
Manoranjan was first caught and lynched.
His accomplices were also beaten up severely.
They were referred to the Jorhat civil hospital where their condition is stated to be serious.
