Two die of excess liquor consumption

Raichur, Oct 1 (UNI) Two political party workers died today after consuming excess liquor while celebrating the victory of their party in the Urban local body elections at Sukalpet in Sindhonour Taluq in the district.

The Superintendent of Police B A Padmanayana told UNI that the incident occurred when a group of people belonging to a national party were enjoying the victory of their candidate in the local time polls last evening. Two of them consumed excess liquor, fell unconscious and died before being taken to a hospital this morning.

The deceased were identified as Venkanna (40) and Urukundi (30).

The doctors confirmed that the deceased were habitual drunkards and died due to liver failure, Mr Padmanayana added.
