New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi today said the Tamil Nadu government had not violated any Supreme Court order, indicating that there was no question of imposing President's Rule in that state.

Mr Dasmunsi, however, made it clear that the Union Cabinet which had a meeting today did not discuss this morning's Supreme Court ruling, warning the state government with dire consequences in case its order on banning of bandh was violated.

Replying to reporters' queries on the Tamil Nadu developments at the Cabinet briefing, Mr Dasmunsi said Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and other state leaders were only observing a non-violent fast which represented the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.

The DMK had announced a state-wide bandh for today to press for the early completion of the Sethusamudram Canal Project, but the apex court had restrained it from going ahead with the move.
