Swedish national looted in Nashik

Nashik, Oct 1 (UNI) A Swedish national was robbed of Rs 120,000 in cash and valuables by three unidentified men in the Deepalinagar area of the city recently.

Police said today that the trio robbed Cemac Abraham Phalakki (48), resident of Johanus in Sweden, of Rs 120,000 in cash, a gold chain, a mobile phone and digital camera. The three even took away Cemac's passport, his identity card, ATM card and return ticket to Sweden Saturday last.

Cemac, a software engineer, had come to Nashik for sightseeing and was searching for a hotel on the Mumbai-Agra highway when the three miscreants, riding a motorcycle, accosted and looted him.

Cemac was also bveaten up and has been admitted to the district civil hospital with injuries.
