Sinha asks CM to step down for BJP to form govt

Bangalore, Oct 1 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vice President and Karnataka-incharge Yashwant Sinha today asked Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to step down and pave way for BJP to form the government under the agreement reached between them while forming the Coalition Government.

Ruling out talks on transfer of power with the JD(S), Mr Sinha told newspersons ''Now time has come for the JD(S) to redeem the pledge it made 20 months ago and hand over Chief Minister's post to Mr B S Yediyurappa.'' Recalling the agreement reached between the two alliance partners, he said ''there is no question of negotiation on the issue of transfer of power. The agreement should be implemented in toto.''
