Silver, gold open high on firm global advice

Mumbai, Oct 1: Spot silver and gold today opened high with silver rising by Rs 75 per kg and gold by Rs 10 per ten gm from their last close on bullish advice from global and upcountry markets, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.

Trading in bullion market will remained officially closed tomorrow on account of ''Gandhi Jayanti''.

Following are the opening rates of spot silver and gold: Silver (per kg).999 fineness grade: Rs 18,395 Gold (per 10 gm): Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 9,605 Gold 99.9 purity pure Gold : Rs 9,655.
