Rich tributes paid to Sivaji Ganesan

Puducherry, Oct 1 (UNI) Rich tributes were paid to veteran film actor Sivaji Ganesan on his 80th birth anniversary today.

Chief Minister N Rangasamy and Speaker R Radhakrishnan were among others who garlanded the Sivaji statue at Karuvadikuppam here.

Sivaji Welfare Association members led by President Mayan also garlanded the statue to mark the occasion.

Mr Rangasamy gave away free spectacles and sarees at a function organsied by the welfare association.

French India Viduthalai Kaala Makkal Narppani Iyyakkam led by its President D Sivaraj organised ''poor feeding'' on the occasion.
