RDD sent to jail in bribery case

Patna, Oct 1 (UNI) Special vigilance judge of Patna S K Panwar today remanded Naga Ram, Regional Deputy Director(RDD) of the Education department, Purnia, and Mahendar Prasad Jaiswal, a headmaster, to judicial custody in a bribery case till October 12 during the day.

Vigilance officials produced Mr Ram and Mr Jaiswal before the designated judge after their arrest from Purnia yesterday.

According to the charges, Mr Ram and Mr Jaiswal were arrested by the vigilance sleuths while accepting a bribe Rs 10,000 from a clark of the Education department in Purnia on September 30, 2007.
