NDF demands CBI probe into Fazal murder case

Kozhikode, Oct 1 (UNI) National Democratic Front (NDF) in Kerala today demanded a CBI probe into the brutal murder of its activist Mohammed Fazal as the state government has failed to nab the culprits.

Talking to newspersons here, NDF General Secretay P Abdul Majeed Faizi said a deliberate attempt was being made by the Crime Branch to protect the accused in the murder at Thalassery in Kannur district on October 22.

Mr Faizi accused Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishan for ''protecting''the culprits, who were all suspected activists of his party.

''We do not expect a fair deal'' from the Crime Branch and the local police, which were under the direct control of the Home Minister, he alleged.

The NDF would conduct a march to Mr Balakrishan's residence on October 22 to press its demand, he added.
