Gold closes at five-month high, silver rises

Mumbai, Oct 1: Spot pure gold today closed to a five month high at Rs 9,655 per ten gm with a modest gain of Rs ten, while silver ended firm at Rs 18,400 per kg with a gain of Rs 80 from its last close on better buying support from ornament-makers and bullish global and upcountry advices, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.

Following are the closing rates of spot silver and gold: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade : Rs 18,400 (18,320) Gold (per 10 gm) Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 9,605 (9,595) Gold 99.9 purity pure gold : Rs 9,655 (9,645).
