Congress ready to face mid-term polls: KPCC Chief

Bangalore, Oct 1 (UNI) The Congress in Karnataka was ready to face Assembly elections, State party Chief Mallikarjun Kharge said today.

Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Kharge said his party had retained the top position with regard to winning more number of seats in the just concluded urban local bodies elections. Though the issues under which elections were fought were different from the Assembly election, the party was ready to face it anytime, he announced.

Commenting on the performance of coalition partners Bharatiya Janata Party and the Janata Dal(Secular), he said it was natural for anyone in power to improve their performances and there was no surprise in it.

Despite money and muscle power being used by the ruling coalition, the Congress had managed to retain its first position, he added.
