Case against 2 senior MCD officials in disproportionate assets case

New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against two Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) officials for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.

Assistant Director (Slum and Urban Rehabilitation (SUR) Division), Municipal Corporation of Delhi, was alleged to be in possession of assets disproportionate to known sources of his income, said the CBI.

Presently in judicial custody, case against him was registered on Friday last.

He is also an accused in the allotment of plots to slum dwellers in Molarband area scam.

Another case was registered against an Assistant Engineer, MCD, for possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, after investigations, on the orders of the Delhi High Court which in May 2006 directed the CBI to investigate into the assets and net wealth of the engineers who had allowed unauthorised construction in Delhi.
