Bangalore, Oct 1 (UNI) Karnataka Water Resources Minister S Eswarappa today urged Janata Dal(Secular) Supremo H D Devegowda and Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to respect the agreement reached between his party and JD(S) on transfer of Chief Minister's post on October Three.

Speaking to newsmen here he said the people's verdict in the just concluded urban local bodies elections clearly showed that the coalition government should continue and that the Congress had been rejected. Keeping in view the interest of the state, the JD(S) should transfer power as per the pre-government formation agreement failing which such agreements would have no sanctity in future, he felt.

He said the outcome of the elections had clearly given a message that they had approved the programmes of the coalition set up during the last 20 months. Mr Gowda, should set a model by paving way for BJP to take over the reins as per the agreement reached between the two parties prior to coming to power 20 months ago, he felt.

He declined to comment on future course of action by the party and said he had full confidence in the JD(S) leadership on transfer of power.
