Bidadi Township development charges fixed

Bangalore, Oct 1 (UNI) The Karnataka Cabinet today approved a common charge of Rs 57.5 lakh per acre of land for development of both government and private lands for constructing Bidadi Satellite Township, in the next five years, on the outskirts of the city.

Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, Minister for Secondary Education Basavaraj Horatti said the Cabinet was in favour of fixing a common development charge for both government and private lands.

He said the tender was given to DLF Constuction Company for building the township in the next five years.

The Cabinet approved sanction of annual grant of Rs seven crore to 28 private B Ed Colleges, he said adding the grants would be given to colleges which were set up before 1987.

He said the cabinet also appoved to merge Karnataka Small Scale Industries Marketing Corporation, which was currently closed, with the Karnataka Small Scale Industries Development Corporation.
