Lahimpur Kheri, Oct 1 (UNI) In an incident reminiscent of the sensational Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) marketing officer and IIM-Lucknow alumini S Manjunath murder, yet another officer of the company has been assaulted by masked men here.

Police said today the miscreants stormed the house of Bijendra Vikram Singh (28) and stabbed him.

Meanwhile, police had suspected the hand of 'oil mafias' behind the assault.

However, talking to mediapersons in Lucknow this evening, special secretary (home) G K Tandon denied the role of 'oil mafias' behind the incident.

He said four persons, including Bijendra's maid servant, had been taken into police custody for interrogation.

On November 18, 2005, S Manjunath was shot dead on the premises of a petrol pump.

Seven accused had been sent behind bars, while two others, including the son of a petrol pump owner, were slapped with death sentence.

The murder had caused nation-wide stir.
