Nitish demands 300 mw additional electricity from Centre

Patna, Sep 30 (UNI) Bihar chief minister Nitish kumar has urged Union Energy minister Sushil kumar Shinde to provide 300 megawatt of additional electricity to the state.

Keeping in view the inconveniances of the people following shortage of power supply during the holy month of Ramdhan and on the eve of Dussera festival, the chief minister rang up Mr Shinde and requested him for making provision of additional 300 mw of power to the state to meet the shortages.

Mr Shinde has assured Mr Kumar of immediate action in this direction, an official releease here tonight said.

Incidentally, most parts of Bihar is reeling under a severe power crisis for the past few days and the problem increased manifold following incessant rain. As a result of inadequate power supply, most of the pumps to drain out rain waters could not be operated causing severe inconveniances to the people.
