MeSEB inks agreement with PGCIL

Shillong, Sep 30: The Meghalaya State Electricity Board (MeSEB) has executed an agreement with the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) for construction of 220 KV double circuit line from the Power Grid Sub-station at Misa in Assam to Byrnihat in Meghalaya.

A MeSEB statement said here today that the project, funded jointly by the DoNER Ministry and Planning Commission at an estimated cost of Rs 150 crore, would be executed by the PGCIL.

It is the first project of its kind in Meghalaya, would be completed in 30 months and on completion, enable production of about 275 MW power from the regional and national grids and help ease power shortage in the state.
