Haryana govt appoints administration for HOA

Chandigarh, Sep 30 (UNI) The Haryana Government has appointed Mr R R Jowel, Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Haryana as the Administrator, Haryana Olympic Association (HOA).

While addressing a press conference here today, Mr Jowel said that he had been appointed as the Administrator for a period of six months to manage the affairs of the Association.

He said that his main thrust as an Administrator would be to take care of the interest of the sportspersons of the state and to monitor the affairs of various other sports bodies functioning in the State.

Mr Jowel said that with his appointment, both the rival Haryana Olympic Associations would not be in existence till the election of the Association.

Replying to a question about why the Administrator had been appointed, he said that the functioning of two parallel Olympic Associations were becoming detrimental to the interest and growth of the sports activities in the state. He said that a sports event organised by any of the two rival Olympic Association would be entirely illegal.

The Administrator would take action against the concerned Association in accordance with the provisions of the Societies Registration Act, he added.
