Srinagar, Sep 30 (UNI) A fake stamp paper scam has surfaced in Jammu and Kashmir after judges of two local courts found fictitious stamp duty with sale deeds here.

The matter was immediately referred to the Crime Branch (CB) of the state police and a case had been registered.

Official sources said fictitious stamp duty papers were noticed by Judicial Magistrate here during the execution of a sale deed in the court.

The CB during the investigation found that the fictitious stamp duty papers were sold by a vender, Syed Showkat Hussain, in Sadder Court here.
