DMK, alliance parties to observe fast

Puducherry, Sep 30 (UNI) The DMK and its allies will observe a token fast tomorrow near the Venkatasubbareddiyar statue here as directed by Party President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, in the wake of the Supreme Court verdict staying the DMK-sponsored bandh.

Talking to newspersons here, Party Convenor R V Janakiraman said an invitation had been extended to all DPA constituents to join the fast.

The fast was to press the Centre to go ahead with the implementation of the Sethu Samudram Shipping Channel Project (SSCP).
