6600 to perform Haj this year from J&K

Srinagar, Sep 30 (UNI) The first batch of 415 Haj pilgrims of the Jammu and Kashmir will leave from Srinagar airport for Jeddah on November 11.

A total of 6600 pilgrims, selected from all parts of the state through draw of lots, will perform the Haj this year, an official spokesman said.

He said all arrangements were finalised with the Central Haj Committee (CHC) by the State Haj Committee (SHC) for the safe and comfortable pilgrimage.

The first flight would take off at 1130 hrs while second flight at 1230 hrs from the airport to Jeddah.

He said during the first 15 days there will be two flights daily while as on the last day, there will be only one flight.

It has been decided that the pilgrims will be taken to airport in special buses from the newly constructed Haj House at Bemina.

First flight shall carry 215 pilgrims, while 200 pilgrims shall board the second flight, he said.

He said it has been decided to set up a camp office at Srinagar Air Port a week earlier.
