Nepali students protest at Kathmandu's Myanmar embassy

Kathmandu, Sep 29 (UNI) Students in Nepal today staged a massive demonstration in front of Myanmar embassy here in protest against the atrocities committed by the dictatotrial junta of that country on pro-democracy protestors.

Students affiliated to The Nepal Students Union(NSU) the student wing of the Nepali Congress protested with placards that read 'Release Aung Sang Suu Kyi,' 'military rule down down,' 'stop human rights violation,' and 'end dictatorial rule.' The brutal supression of peaceful demonstration and denial of basic human rights by the military junta has come under severe criticism from human and civil rights group worldwide.

Myanmar had also vociferously supported the democratic movement in Nepal in 2007.

Nearly 300,000 people of Nepali origin live in various parts of Myanmar.
