Missing mountaineering members yet not traced

Dehra Dun, Sep 29 (UNI) Whereabouts of the five missing members of Army Mountaineering team that had left to scale NandaDevi peak in Uttarakhand had not yet been traced.

Two Army Chetak Helicopters today carried out search operations through out the day but failed to locate them.

Army officials said the search operation would be resumed tomorrow again.

The 25-member Mountaineering team of Kumaon Regiment, Ranikhet had left for Nandadevi on August 31 from their camp.

Couple of days back, five of its members including the team leader Major Shyamal Singh were isolated from the main group following heavy snowfall and inclement weather en-route, the oficials informed.
