Dharam Singh demands Chief Minister's resignation

Bangalore, Sep 29 (UNI) Karnataka Leader of Opposition N Dharam Singh today demanded the resignation of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for'' failing'' to take action against Tourism Minister B Sriramulu.

Mr Singh told reporters here Mr Kumaraswamy was continuing in power despite being accused of facing an attempt to murder charge.

''This is the first time in the history of Karnataka that a Chief Minister of the state is facing such a charge from his Cabinet Minister,'' he said.

He said ''The Chief Minister should drop Mr Sriramulu from the Cabinet or quit power if he is helpless.'' Mr Singh also ruled out any alliance with JD(S) in case the JD(S)-BJP coalition government collapsed.
