Hoshiarpur, Sep 28 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Industry Ashwani Kumar today said there was no threat to the UPA Government from left parties in the wake of their opposition to Indo-US nuclear deal.

Talking to media persons at Mukerian, 52 Km from here, he said the Government would definitely complete its tenure. He, however, said the Congress was fully prepared to face the midterm poll of the Lok Sabha if the situation so arose.

He claimed that the Indo-US nuclear deal was the biggest achievement of the UPA Government. With its implementation, more 20,000 megawatt electricity would be generated in the country.

It would not only end the shortage of power but also made the electricity available to all villages and further boost industrialisation in the country, he said.

Mr Ashwani Kumar asserted the Central Government would provide equal facilities to industries of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttranchal and Jammu and Kashmir.

Criticising the recent role of BJP on the Ram Setu issue, he said the BJP was trying to mislead the people for its petty political gain. He labelled the BJP as a communal party which had always "exploited" the religious sentiments of a section of people of the country. But they had fully realised its "misdeeds" and would not favour it, he claimed.

Later, the Minister participated in a function organised in connection with the birth centenary of Shaheed-e-Azaam Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Rajguru and Shaheed Sukhdev at Girls Senior Secondary School, Mukerian.
