Three killed in HP accident

Shimla, Sep 28 (UNI) Three people, including a woman, were killed and another injured after their vehicle veered off the road and fell into a gorge in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh early today, police sources said.

The accident occurred at Bharuni Khud, about seven km from Rampur, when the vehicle with four people on board, fell into a gorge at about 0930 hrs, the sources told UNI here.

They said three people identified as Chit Ram, 34, Padam Singh, 30 and Kala Devi, 32 were killed on the spot, while the driver of the vehicle, identified as Gopal, 30, has been admitted to a government hospital at Rampur where the doctors described his condition serious.

The cause of the accident was, however, not immediately known, the sources said, adding that a case has been registered and investigations are on.
