Rupee opens almost steady at 39.69/70 per USD
Mumbai, Sep 28 (UNI) The Rupee opened almost steady at Rs 39.69/70 per US Dollar as compared to the previous close of Rs 39.70/71 a dollar.
In a less active Inter-Bank Foreign Echange (Forex) market Rupee has been observed in a mode of mixed trading. The local currency made a firm start at 39.69/70 per dollar during the early trade.
Later, due to some bid placed for dollar purchase by the state owned Power Grid Corporation, the Rupee came down to 39.83/84 per dollar, dealers said.
The Rupee is currently trading at 39.77/78 per dollar.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has continued its check on Rupee's move, the partially convertible Indian currency expected to trade in a range bound level during the further sessions, dealers opined.
