Mulford honoured with prestigious award

Washington, Sep 28 (UNI) U S Ambassador to India David Mulford has been conferred with the prestigious Sue M Cobb Award, 2007, for exemplary diplomatic services.

The state department today said Mr Mulford had been selected for his ''tireless and successful'' work in fostering the growing bilateral partnership with India.

The Ambassador was selected from a strong field of nominees for the award, it added.

The Award for Exemplary Diplomatic Service is presented to a non-career ambassador who has used private sector leadership and management skills to make a significant impact on bilateral or multilateral relations and has done so in a manner that best reflects the Foreign Service culture of uncommon commitment in carrying out United States foreign policy through proactive diplomacy.

The award was instituted by former US Ambassador to Jamaica Sue M Cobb.
