Lord Vishnu idol seized, 2 held

Gonda, Sep 28 (UNI) Police today arrested two persons possessing an ancient idol of Lord Vishnu worth lakhs of rupees in Begumganj area of the district.

Prem Nath and Girja Shankar were nabbed with the 'ashtadhatu' idol, when they were on their way to sell it.

On interrogation, they confessed to the crime, saying they had bought the idol from one Ram Abhilash last year.
