Pisciculturists honoured in MP

Hoshangabad, MP, Sep 27 (UNI) Pisciculturists from Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat have been honoured here by Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for Fisheries Moti Kashyap for noteworthy work at national level.

At a programme organised here yesterday by the Mumbai-based Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Balaghat district-resident Kunwar Bisen, Andhra's G R Ashwara and Gujarat's Shaji Chako were honoured. Institute Director Dileep Kumar and Director (Fisheries) H S Siddhu were among those present.

''The state government is making intensive attempts to enhance fish production that is witnessing an increase for the past three years. Grants upto Rs 50,000 are being provided to peasants under the Farm Pond Scheme. Fisherfolk should develop new techniques,'' said Mr Kashyap.
