Man convicted for rape

Anand, Sept 27 (UNI) The fast track court Judge A K Kachiya today sentenced Amit alias Rinky Budhabhai Thakor to one and half years rigorous imprisonment for raping a 14-year-old girl at Vera village on the outskirts of Borsad.

Amit was also slapped a Rs 500 fine, failing which he would have to undergo additional seven days imprisonment.

The crime was committed on March 29, 2006.
