KC assails Centre on food security scheme

Kottayam, Sep 27 (UNI) Kerala Congress Chairman P J Joseph today came down heavily on the Centre for not including the state in the National Food Security Scheme.

At a press conference here, he called the exclusion of the state from the scheme as serious discrimination towards the state.

Mr Joseph also appealed to the Centre to also include Palakkad, Alappuzha and Thrissur Districts in the scheme.

Kerala Congress activists would stage a fast near the Gandhi Statue here on October two to include the state in the food security scheme and to propagate the message -- 'Malinyamillatha Malayala Nadu, he said.
