Emmsons forms JV with Dubai's Eta group for coal mining

New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) Emmsons International Ltd has signed an agreement with Dubai-based ETA star group to form a joint venture for coal mining operations in Indonesia.

The joint-venture company, Star Emmsons Resources would acquire coal mines in Indonesia and expects to commence mining operations in the coming months, company said in a statement.

ETA Group, with a turnover of four billion dollar is planning to set up 1200 MW (600X2) coal-based power plants in South India with an investment of Rs 6,000 crore.

The project will require over five million tonnes of imported coal.

The JV operations will forward the plans of leveraging coal supplies for the IPP's through imported coal.

ETA and Emmsons are both trading imported coal from Indonesia, South Africa, China and other African Countries.
