CAPEXIL to enhance export to 20 Billion USD

Kolkata, Sep 27 (UNI) Chemicals and Allied Products Export Promotion Council (CAPEXIL) would enhance export of its products to 20 billion US dollars by next decade, CAPEXIL Chairman Samir Kumar Ghosh said here today.

Addressing mediapersons on the eve of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Company, Mr Ghosh said to achieve this target, the Company would organise more buyer-seller meets abroad giving importance on quality products with best technology.

'' In achieving the objectives, we are taking measures to cross hurdles relating to high cost of power, fuel, capital, non availability of natural gas, burden of taxation and on going appreciation of Rupee vis-a-vis foreign currencies,'' Mr Ghosh observed.

He said special thrust was giving on aggressive marketing and exploring of new market areas for export in different countries.

He said in spite of India's enough foreign reserves, trade deficit in exports and imports were widening adding ''We are to work hard for correction of the same.'' '' The current fiscal is very significant and important to all of us as we will be celebrating our Golden Jubilee with certain visions and commitments for further growth in export as well as in membership,'' Mr Ghosh maintained.

He informed that in 2006-07, the membership of CAPEXIL stood at 3804 and the value of export was 9620.02 million approx.
