3 arrested for beating rickshaw driver

Rajkot, Sep 27 (UNI) Police arrested three brothers last night after they had allegedly beaten up an auto-rickshaw driver at Mavdi Chowk here.

According to police, the three accused, who were travelling in a car, had a narrow escape from colliding with the autorickshaw.

Following this, the occupants of the car had a heated argument with the rickshaw driver Dinesh Boricha. Later they beat him up and one of the three fired at him from his licensed revolver. However, Dinesh escaped unhurt.

The accused were arrested under the arms and attempt to murder act. The police has also seized their car.

The accused have been identified as -- Rajshi Mashri, Yogesh Mashri and Govind Mashri, the police said.
