UP minister resignation awaits governor's approval
Lucknow, Sep 26 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar is likely to accept the resignation of state minister Raghunath Prasad Shankvar tomorrow after the former returns to the state capital.
Sources in Raj Bhawan said Governor Rajeswar is in the national capital and is expected to return tomorrow. ''The resignation of the minister has not been sent to him...he is returning tomorrow and the papers would be put before him then,' said the sources in Raj Bhawan.
Minister of state for Land Development and Water Resources (Independent charge) Dr Raghunath Prasad Shankvar had tendered his resignation last evening.
Chief Minister Mayawati had forwarded the resignation to Raj Bhawan for the governor's approval.
Dr Shankvar had recently hogged the limelight when a medicine purchase scam had rocked the state. The minister was a chief medical officer (CMO) in various districts when several irregularities in the medical sector had come out in open.
