Pondy Lt Governor, CM greets PM

Puducherry, Sep 26: Puducherry Lt Governor Mukut Mithi and Chief Minister N Rangasamy today greeted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his 75th birthday.

In his message, Mr Mithi said, ''it is fortunate that the country has at the helm an erudite Prime Minister rightly acclaimed as a thinker and scholar.'' He said Dr Singh has been a silent crusader in carrying forward the people friendly policies of the UPA Government.

''We have been witnessing a silent revolution under his leadership in all fields with the global community realising the immense potential of emerging India,'' Mr Mithi said and wished him a long and healthy life.

Mr Rangasamy wished Dr Singh, a long and healthy life.
