Online Reg for Passport mandatory from Oct 1

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 26 (UNI) The Regional Passport Office here announced that online registration will be mandatory for filing applications for passports with effect from October 1.

Regional Passport Officer S Balachandran, in a press release here today said the office had recently made online registration mandatory for filing applications under the Tatkal category. Now, the system had been extended to all applications, except for those seeking ECNR and PCC endorsements.

Applicants have to register their applications in the website www.passport.gov.in before submitting the copy of the same to the Passport Office in person. The applications could be filed between 0930 hrs and 1300 hrs. Applicants, who do not have access to Internet could avail the services of Ex-Servicemen Facilitation Centre functioning at the Passport Office campus here, he said.

Manually filled-in applications could be submitted at the District Passport centres and Speed Post collection centres, he added.
