Official sentenced to 3 years RI

New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) Special Judge CBI G P Mittal today sentenced Madhu Shankla an official posted at crime against women cell, Amar colony,Delhi to three years imprisonment in a bribery case .

On September 30, 1999 Ratan Kumar Modi made a complaint to CBI that the lady posted at C A W cell had demanded a bribe of Rs 50000 for giving a favourable report in his case.

However, she was caught red handed for accepting a bribe of Rs 50000 on October 1, 1999.

Court found her guilty of section 7 and 13(2) read with 13(1)(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act.

She was sentenced to 3 years rigorous imprisonment and also a fine of Rs 50000 was imposed on her.
