Immersion procession ends peacefully

Pune, Sep 26 (UNI) The Immersion of Ganesh idols ended peacefully in the city this evening.

The Shivaji Mandal's idol was the last to be immersed here today at 1650 hrs at Mutha rivar ghat at Khandoji Baba chowk in Deccan Gymkhana Area.

The procession, which started at 1035 hrs here yesterday, culminated after 31 hours.

The police control Room spokesperson told UNI here that the strict Bandobast, under overall supervision of Pune Police Commissioner Jayant Umranikar, had ensured smooth and peaceful celebrations.
