Hooda inaugurates Panchkula Technology Park

Chandigarh, Sep 26 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today inaugurated Panchkula Technology Park on the banks of river Ghaggar in Panchkula that would provide employment to 40,000 people.

The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) had allotted 97 acres of land for development of this park between the hills adjoining Gurudwara Nada Sahib along National Highway Number 73 and Ghaggar river.

A sum of over Rs 8.50 crore had so far been incurred on various developmental works, which included construction of a wall along Ghaggar to protect the area from floods and soil erosion, construction of roads, laying of sewerage, drainage system and street lights, an official spokesman said.

Tenders were being invited for the construction of a 66 KV substation (gas insulated), he added.

Those present on the occasion included Industries Ministrer Lachhman Dass Arora, Parliamentary Secretary Ram Kishan and senior officers of the state government, including Principal Secretary to Chief Minister M L Tayal, Principal Secretary and Financial Commissioner (Industries and Information Technology) P K Chaudhery and HSIIDC Managing Director Rajeev Arora.
