HC orders jail official to appear before it

Kochi, Sep 26 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today directed the Superintendent of Police of Central Prison at Kannur to appear before it on October ten in connection with a parole case.

A Division Bench comprising Mr Justice J B Koshy and Mr Justice K Padmanabhan Nair gave this direction when the court found the Superintendent filed a false statement in a suo moto case taken by the High Court on grant of parole.

The court also observed that disciplinary action should be taken against him.

He allegedly made wrong statements regarding the grant of parole to the prioners.
