Couple murdered on suspected sorcery

Rourkela, Sep 26 (UNI) A couple was murdered on suspicion of practising sorcery in Singer hamlet under Brahamani Tarang Police station of Sundergarh district.

According to police, one Bandana Ekka and his wife Shanti were axed to death yesterday night by one Mani Minz of the same village.

Police said Mani murdered the couple as he held them responsible for his wife's death.

Mani's wife died of snake bite a month back. But he suspected that the Ekka couple had used black magic to kill his wife.

Mani was absconding after the incident and a manhunt was on to arrest him, police said.
