Ahmedabad, Sep 26 (UNI) The affidavit questioning the existence of Lord Ram filed by the Congress in the Supreme Court is its biggest mistake, said Leader of Opposition in Parliament L K Advani today.

''Congress' political history is replete with mistakes. Its first mistake was emergency in 1975, for which Congress had to pay with defeat in the ensuing election. Its second mistake was Shaha Bano case in 1987. And now, its biggest mistake is the proposed destruction of Ram Sethu for the Sethu Samudram Project,'' Mr Advani said while addressing a state level convention of BJP workers at Sardar Patel Stadium here.

''When Congress filed the affidavit in the Supreme Court on behalf of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi denying the existence of Lord Ram, I personally called up the Prime Minister asking him to withdraw the affidavit,'' he said.

Praising Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the party's poster boy for the forthcoming assembly elections in the state, Mr Advani said ''As Mr Modi's government is completing six years in power, it has produced an example of good governence in the country. In India, Lord Ram is worshipped as ideal man and his governence an ideal one -- Ram Rajya. Mr Modi has established 'Ram Rajya' in Gujarat.'' Exhorting party workers for victory of 150 seats in Gujarat, BJP national president Rajnath Singh said ''All party workers manning the polling booths in the state will receive personal calls from senior leaders like Mr Advani and Mr Modi.'' ''Our victory is certain in this election. If 150 seats are won in Gujarat state assembly, victory for BJP in the Parliamentary elections will not be very far,'' he added.
