City police nab a gang for crime committed in December last

Bangalore, Sep 26 (UNI) City police today arrested five people and seized Industrial Gas Cylinders worth over Rs 15 lakh from a truck going to Goa.

City Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Ravikanthe Gowda, speaking to newsmen here, informed that acting on a tip off, police nabbed them while they were trying to commit another crime. The accused had robbed a truck carrying Cylinders containing Industrial Gas to Goa in December last. They had looted over 130 cylinders of Hydrogen and Nitrogen gas after hijacking the vehicle along with driver and cleaner.

In another incident the city police also seized 32 fake gold biscuits from a person hailing from West Bengal. The accused was arrested when he was allegedly trying to sell the fake gold-biscuits to the devotees near a temple in the city.

The city police also arrested three people allegedly involved in various theft and looting incidents including in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

In another incident the city police also seized as many as 60000 fake Compact Disks worth over Rs 1.13 crore and arrested 85 people in this connections during January to September this year. The accused were operating in various areas in the city and were also producing porn films using some of these CDs.
