Nepal Maoists say close to new deal with Govt

Maoist
chief
Prachanda
said
on
Monday
that
the
former
guerrillas
were
close
to
a
new
deal
with
the
government,
a
week
after
quitting
the
cabinet
demanding
an
immediate
declaration
of
a
republic.
The Maoists pulled out of the ruling coalition last week insisting that the Himalayan nation be turned into a republic and vowed to stop the Nov. 22 polls aimed at deciding the fate of the monarchy.
