Andhra Pradesh reels under floods

Visakhapatnam, Sept 23, 2007: Andhra Pradesh today reeled under floods caused by heavy rains over the few days.

The worst hit are Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, East and West Godavari districts of the state which have received heavy to very heavy rains under the influence of low pressure area. Over 40, 000 families are said to be affected due to floods in the region. The state meteorological department predicts more rain in next 24 hours in various parts of the state.
